What would you do if you realized you weren’t sitting in a closed off space? That God was setting you in a vast space.
On Dec. 4, Engage South KC is hosting an art show featuring visual art, poetry, music, etc. inspired by the “spacious place” found in Psalm 18.
“But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. God brought me out into a spacious place; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!”
Psalm 18:16-19
Imagine being in a space big enough to live, dream and become all God has created you to be.
What would that space mean for you? Your neighbors? For the church?
The artists, all from the Kansas City area, created the pieces while dwelling on the scripture in hopes that the finished art would prepare hearts/minds to create space in 2023. Create Space to encounter God. Create Space to find refuge. Create Space to love and care for ourselves and others.
The pieces of art will be auctioned off at the end of the night to help fund missions in Kansas City.
The art show will be at from 4-6 p.m., Dec. 4 at Fire House KC, 4518 Troost Ave, Kansas City, Mo. It will take place during Engage South KC’s annual celebration called City Lights where guests can expect live music, refreshments/appetizers, gourmet s’mores, kids activities, craft coffee from Fika Coffee KC and more. Tickets are free. Reserve tickets here.
The Create Space Art Show & Auction goes live online Dec. 3 @ 9 a.m. here: https://givebutter.com/c/citylights/auction.
