“A Spectacular Christmas Show,” a beloved KC tradition, returns to Music Theater Heritage in Crown Center Dec. 8 – 23.
Staying true to its mission and tradition, this year’s all-new production features holiday music taken from musical theater productions, as well as innovative arrangements of holiday classics.
“We’re so excited to see Emily bring Christmas to life for our audiences this year,” said Tim Scott, MTH Artistic Director and Chief Executive. “So many have come to count on MTH as a part of their holiday tradition. It will be lovely to see so many families taking in the beauty and magic of the holiday season with us at Crown Center.”
While this show is not traditionally faith driven, I always cherish the time spent with family at the theater, singing, laughing and bonding. Remember that while Christmas is centered around the birth of Jesus, we don’t effectively share our faith with our families without quality relationships built in moments of fun.
So, this season, take every opportunity you can get to bond over holiday cheer and creative festivities such as “A Spectacular Christmas Show.”
Directed and choreographed by MTH Artistic Associate Emily Shackelford, “A Spectacular Christmas Show” features a six-person ensemble (Chelcie Abercrombie, Taylor Avazpour, Valerie Chamberlain, Arthur Clifford, Catera Combs and Douglass Walker) and a four-piece band (Mark Ferrell on piano, Tod Barnard on drums, Jacob Roemer on bass and Laura Saylor on trumpet).
“A Spectacular Christmas Show” runs 14 performances Dec. 8 – 23 at Music Theater Heritage. For tickets and more information, contact the MTH Box Office at 816.221.6987 or mthkc.com.
